It’s no secret that I love good coffee, so I’ve decided to start a bi-weekly Coffee Bar series. The coffee bar is a place to chat about life, inspiration, the good, the bad, and the ugly. This bar is a no-judgment zone.
I love a good talk over coffee, it’s soothing and relaxing. I’ve been watching Kaylen’s Coffee Talks on Youtube for a while (binge-watched actually), which are so much fun to watch.
With her inspiration, I’ve decided to host a “Coffee Bar” series of my own. I fell in love with a lot of new coffee recipes that aren’t the same run-of-the-mill coffees.

This week I find it fitting to just catch up, ya know. Life goes by so fast and it’s fun and important to remember the good times you’ve had during the last few weeks. Now that the holidays are gone and New Year has left us behind let’s take a few minutes to connect to ourselves.
So grab something to sip on, diffuse essential oils, or light a candle then settle in for our cozy chat. I’m sipping on a cup of an Oatmeal Cream Pie blend from Bones Coffee Co, it’s delicious! It’s from their Nightmare Before Christmas line called Ruff Weather. The bag adorns Zero with his glowing nose on the front.

New Years Ever was rather uneventful, we didn’t even make it to 12 am HA! Nope, sure didn’t we fell asleep around 10:30 watching some stupid movie that was chosen for us to watch. I’ve been reading Atomic Habits and instead of setting goals this year, I’ve decided to set new habits and do them with intention.
I am determined what is causing me to faint. I totaled 2 cars from fainting last year so now I’m being run a series of tests to see if they’re seizures so they can be treated. As of right now I can’t work or drive because I’m a “medical Risk”. Which makes sense to me it’s just a little scary not knowing whats going on inside my brain.
Since reading Atomic Habits and the habits I’ve decided to build, I’ll be doing yoga every morning at 7 am in the living room. The book reads if you choose a habit, a time, and a place to do something you’ll be more inclined to do it. As not to overwhelm myself I’ll be doing one habit at a time until i practice “habit stacking” – also mentioned in the book.

My house caught on fire 6 months ago (I’ve been home 3 weeks) and while it was getting rebuilt I stayed with my aunt, At the time I worked at a collision center that I loved. I’d get up at 5;30 to take a shower, do my hair and makeup then head to the kitchen for coffee with my aunt. We’d have our own coffee chats and I loved them, every day for 6 months we’d talk. It was nice to get things off my mind and a different perspective on things.
We’ve decided to start having Sunday dinners at her house as well, our first was last Sunday. We had homemade spaghetti with sweet red wine. Oh, it was heaven. I love a good sweet red, my favorite is Roscoto though. I didn’t realize how late it was, we left at 9:00 and Chris has to be at work at 6 plus it takes about an hour to get t his house. He fell asleep as soon as his head hit the pillow.
With all my free time I’ve decided to keep 3 blogs going at once. It keeps me busy and makes the days go by pretty quickly. I’m treating them as jobs right now and trying to get them set for a little income. I know it could be a while before that happens though. If you’d like to check them out they’re Expected Detours which is a mental health blog and there are Thoughts On A post It Note which is inspirational and motivating.
I also want to get back into painting, which I use to love. Now I’d rather do life like paint by numbers. I’d love to do one for you! If you’re interested leave me a comment below or shoot me an email at leslie@aforkfullofcupcake,com. I’ve painted two that have been gifted but I didn’t take pictures because I thought that’d be the only 2 I’d ever do. I guess this one was a shameless plug.
I’ll go ahead and wrap up this chat, I hope you all have a lovely day and hope to see you next time for our Coffee Bar Chat. If you’d like to join in on the talk, leave a comment telling us what you’re sipping on and your input if you’d like. I want these Coffee Bar chats to be fun.
You can also subscribe to the newsletter for new blog post updates, new recipes, and other tidbits. You can sign up here and you’ll get a free PDF showing you how to save more and spend less on groceries plus a free printable. I hope to see you on the list so we can keep in touch.
